By way of digitalwave:

I know I've written about this before but Amanda's, a-phoenixdragon, situation gets more dire by the day. They've gotten their eviction notice for their apartment for missing this month's rent. In order to not lose their home they have to pay this months, next month and the 'cost' of court filings for the apartment complex. Their normal rent is $700.00 per month so, at best, they're looking at needing $1600.00. This is her most recent post from today:

http://a-phoenixdragon.livejournal.com/1090713.html

They've been praying for her husband's W2 to arrive, hoping that they could use any refund they might get back to go toward their rent. As of today it still hasn't come. She's tried every organization, every church, that she thought they might have even the slightest chance of getting help from. So far, no luck. It's a bad time, following on the heels of the holidays a lot of them are tapped out, or she falls through the cracks of who they can help. What worries me the most is that they have two little guys and it looks more certain every day that they'll lose their home without some kind of miracle happening.

Like I've said before, I can't just stand by and watch this happening. Please, please, if anyone would like to help, even if it's just a couple of dollars, her PayPal address is [email protected] . Don't worry, I asked Mandy beforehand if it would be okay to list it here.

Most importantly, if you wouldn't mind, help me pass the word about this along. I give blanket permission for you to share this post wherever you can. The more people that see it, the better chance we have at getting her at least a portion of her miracle. I don't want them to end up homeless with two little boys depending on them.

Like I've said before, she's a good, kind person who is doing her best to provide for her family. She shouldn't be facing something like this alone, not when we have the chance to help.
Dear CW Network:

Die. Die in a fire. I don't actually wish harm on any employees of your company, but seriously: go piss up a rope, I'm fucking done with you.

Fandom, I'm asking you to do me a solid.

I'm guessing some of you are going to watch the Star-Crossed marathon tomorrow - don't lie, some of you are watching it - and the new episode at 8. Well, I'm asking you to not change the channel after that.

I'm asking you to give The Tomorrow People a chance.

It's kind of in a dead heat between Star-Crossed and The 100 to see which one is gonna get renewed for next season (which, not for nothing--pick up at least two, do 13-episode seasons like Sleepy Hollow, BOOM! Twice as many shows in a year. YOU'RE WELCOME), and I'd like it to be this one. I've gone into why before; it's a good show, it's getting better, it's finding its feet. It deserves a chance, and I'd like to give it one.

Do you need more reasons? Perfectly okay: Shirtless guys! Thoughtful science fiction! Mark Pellegrino has a steady job! Seriously, if you need a reason to give it a shot, you need look no further than that: Mark Pellegrino has a steady job. Mark Pellegrino, being allowed to develop a character that ISN'T Lucifer or Jacob from Lost.

Also? William Shatner really likes it. If you don't give it a chance for my sake, do it for Captain James T. Kirk. Or Denny Crane. Or because of WILLIAM FUCKING SHATNER. Do YOU want to make William Shatner mad? No. No you don't.

Fandom, work with me on this. You don't have to pay attention, if you don't want to; that's fine. Just--have it on. Tweet about it, so The CW knows you're watching. Go to a Nielsen family's house and commandeer their TiVo.

Tomorrow night, The CW. 9 PM EST. #TheTomorrowPeople.

(If nothing else, it might distract you from the shitshow that's bound to be the Teen Wolf season finale.)
Update: Have now been trying this befucked site for LITERALLY HALF A DAY. I have emailed them; I have Tweeted at them like an asshole. NOTHING. I tell you what, come midnight, when they have LITERALLY DICKED ME OVER ON THIS, I am writing them a strongly worded email and shittalking them to anyone who asks.

(Yes, I'm being a bitch about this. It's been that kind of day, above and beyond all this nonsense.)

Is anyone else having NINETEEN KINDS OF GODDAMN PROBLEMS with shirtpunch.com, or is it just me getting effed in the A?
Aaaaaand this is the last season for Being Human US. Ugh, you guys, this whole week is going to be weird.
HEY YOU GUYS LET'S HAVE A LONG TALK ABOUT THE TOMORROW PEOPLE (2013 VERSION).

I am incapable of being impartial about this; one of the first non-Star Trek things I was fannish about, waaaaay back in 1992 (SHUT UP OKAY I'M OLD) was the BBC Tomorrow People reboot, which was sort of dumb but also amazing? (And then the guys who did the Big Finish 1970s audio dramas retconned '92 away and said *those* Tomorrow People were crazy people who were all killed in a terrorist plot or something, which is just weaksauce, guys, for real.)

(Also, you should totes find the '92 version on YouTube, because in some ways it is terrible - it's marketed for young kids, for a start, kind of like old-school Who, but it features baby Naomie Harris with some super-sweet braids and CHRISTOPHER FUCKING LEE as THE PHAROAH RAMESES. Like, that happened. He has eyeliner and everything. It is worth it JUST FOR THAT.)

But yeah, The Tomorrow People: it's pretty great.

Pimp Posts & You: The Tomorrow People 2013 )

The Tomorrow People currently airs Wednesdays at 9 PM on The CW - BUT! starting March 17, the show moves to 9 PM EST on MONDAYS. MONDAYS, not Wednesdays.
DOES ANYONE KNOW JAY FIRESTONE'S ADDRESS? BECAUSE I OWE SOMEONE A PUNCH TO THE TAINT.

So for a variety of reasons, including my father's death back in October, I've fallen out of recapping TVD. Not watching it, I still do that, but just ranting about it on the internet like a crazy person. But I decided to come out of semi-retirement tonight (and possibly afterwards; we'll see) for this, the one hundredth episode of the craziest-ass vampire show on TV.

Happy anniversary, baby. I still love you best.

Hey, do you remember when LJ Smith got fired from writing The Vampire Diaries novels? Like, by her publishing company? (The last two trilogies have been ghostwritten by I *think* Aubrey Clark, who also ghostwrote the new Secret Circle novels, which are awful.)

She's going to be writing *new* TVD novels. Through Amazon Kindle Worlds.

YOU GUYS, LJ SMITH IS WRITING VAMPIRE DIARIES FANFICTION.

Best. Day. Ever.
OH MY GOD ALL OF THAT JUST HAPPENED I KIND OF WANT TO PUKE AND START SCREAMING AT STRANGERS

In lieu of that, I will be over here, spending hiatus - GET ON THAT, SYFY - writing the Nathan/Duke [SPOILERS] story that clearly followed post 4x10, because I have eyes and I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF A HAPPY PLACE RIGHT NOW.

It's holiday card time! Comment with your address and/or fandoms you're currently big into; I can't promise flash fiction, but I promise to *try*.

Comments, as always with this sort of thing, are screened.
...so I'm basically going to spend the last two episodes of this season of Haven drinking and crying. Anyone else? Thoughts?
